Marina Lopez

Principal

El Paso native, Marina Lopez is a graduate of The University of Texas at El Paso where she earned a B.A. in Sociology and Texas Tech University where she earned her Master’s degree in Educational Leadership. A lover of learning, Marina is currently pursuing her doctorate in Educational Leadership with Superintendent Certification from Texas Tech University.

Marina is passionate about education, leadership, and social justice and believes leading with mindfulness, joy and laser focus is crucial to creating a vibrant school culture. She is honored to return to “La Escuelita” as the Principal. Marina began her teaching career at La Fe Prep and has since worked at both the primary and secondary level in El Paso and Austin, Texas. She has served as a teacher, teacher leader, and campus leader. She has had the privilege to lead large and small teams and believes that strong relationships between teachers, team members, families and students is a crucial component to any healthy and thriving educational setting. She has a passion for teacher growth and continues to mentor teachers as well as current and aspiring school leaders. Having visited numerous excellent schools across the country, she is confident that La Fe Prep is a truly unique learning experience for the children of El Paso. Marina is committed to leadership rooted in Social & Emotional Learning that paves the way for achievement.

In her free time, Marina enjoys reading, yoga, learning new things, videography, and enjoying the outdoors with her husband Jorge, daughter and their dog.

Jacquelyn Rosas

Assistant Principal

Jacquelyn Rosas has dedicated the past 7 years to her career in Education. Mrs. Rosas graduated in the top 10% from the University of Texas at El Paso with a Bachelor in Interdisciplinary Studies. She then earned her Master’s Degree in School Counseling from Sul Ross State University. Formerly she taught Science at La Fe preparatory School, ELAR and Social Studies in the Socorro Independent School district and lastly she was an Instructional Officer for the Education Service Center Region19. Her passion is helping others fulfil their full potential. She looks forward to making each student’s educational
experience at La Fe Preparatory positive and enriching.

In her free time Mrs. Rosas loves baking cakes and cookies with her 5 year old daughter. Mrs. Rosas also loves being outdoors and enjoys going to horseraces, baseball games, riding quads and off-roading.
Spending time with family and loved ones is one of her top priorities.
